You have now been learning Spanish for 7 weeks, since the beginning of September.
 So far you have learnt:

• To greet people in Spanish at different times of the day
• To say how you are and ask how others are
• The Spanish alphabet and how to spell in Spanish
• To describe what is in your school bag and pencil case
• Classroom vocabulary and instructions
• The numbers up to 100
• The days of the week
• The months of the year 

In terms of grammar you have learnt:

• The personal subject pronouns
• When to use tú and usted
• To conjugate the verb llamarse in the present tense
• Definite and indefinite articles
• How to form the plural of nouns.

You are invited to post a comment here and give your opinion on the Spanish course so far. You can write about what you like and find easy and what to find more difficult. When you write a comment, please use  your first name only and not your “apellido” (surname) for safety reasons.

After half term, here you will find out what we have covered in class and details of your DEBERES de español and other news from me.

Según el diario español 20 Minutos, Velázquez hace furor en Londres. Desde hoy, 18 de octubre de 2006, hasta el 21 de enero de 2007 la National Gallery  muestra 46 obras del pintor en una exposición temporal que ya está batiendo records en Gran Bretaña. Según la National Gallery " for the first time in Britain a major exhibition traces the career of one of he very greatest painters - Diego Rodriguez de Silva y Velázquez (1599-1660)". Según el periódico inglés, The Times, esta exposicición es "undoubtedly the most important show that the National Gallery will stage this decade" y The Sunday Times escribió que es "still sexy after all these years".

Fakenham High School Gifted and Talented Spanish club have launched a competition with prizes.

Go to http://mary-sconster.livejournal.com  and read the descriptions of the 4 fiestas.

Email mary_sconster@yahoo.co.uk in Spanish to say which you think is/are a real fiesta.

Justify your answer well and you could win even if you picked the wrong one!

The competition is open to pupils in the UK.

Include the name of your teacher (for instance MPC) and school address in case you win a prize.

The competition closes 30th June.
